The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant
in it’s original manuscripts, yet infallible and totally
trustworthy in its current form. We believe it is God’s
final authority and it should be obeyed as such. It is comprised
of the sixty-six books of the original canon. It is the only
guide for the faith and practice of a believer.
(II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20&21, John 10:30-35)
God and the Trinity
We believe and know God to be One in essence, yet Tri-personal,
that is He has existed eternally in three persons: the Father,
the Son and the Holy Spirit. They are equal in their divinity
yet differ in their functions. God is distinct from His creation
and as Creator has brought all creation into existence. We
believe He was, is and will always be. He is all powerful,
all knowing and all present.
(John 1:1, 33-34, I Peter 1:1-2)
Christ Jesus
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. We believe He is
true God and true man. We believe that He has existed from
all eternity and is the second person of the godhead. He has
never, nor will He ever, cease from being the second person
of the Trinity. We believe he was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of a virgin. We believe that He lived a holy and
sinless life. We believe that He died on the cross as the
only atonement for the sins of mankind and by doing so provided
a means to a relationship with the Father. We believe that
God bodily and physically raised Him from the dead and in
doing so conquered death once and for all. He ascended to
heaven from where he now reigns.
(Matt. 1:18-25, Luke 1:35, 24:39, John 1:1-2, 3:16, Romans
3:23 & 25, II Cor. 5:1, 5:21, Titus 2:13, I John 2:2,
4:10)
Holy Spirit
We believe that all believers are given gifts by the Holy
Spirit as He sees fit in order to edify one another and to
minister to the unbeliever. We believe the Holy Spirit was
given to the church to actively work in the lives of believers
to do His work. We believe the Holy Spirit is “with”
us before we turned to God to convict us of our sin. We believe
He is “in” (indwelling) us when we become Christians
to help us grow, pray and change. We believe He is “upon”
(filling) us to do God’s work with power and that this
filling is for all believers who desire it.
(John 14:17, 16:8-11, I Cor. 6:19, II Tim. 1:14, Acts 4:8,
2:16-33)
Man
We believe that man is created in the image of God consisting
of three parts: body, soul and spirit. We believe that man
is separated from God by his sin and deserves death.
(Gen. 1:26, John 3:1-7, I Thess. 5:23)
The Second Coming
We believe in the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe Jesus Christ will return soon, and at any time
rapture the Church. We believe it to be personal and very
real. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and
the unjust. We believe that those whom God has saved will
go away to spend eternity with Him and the unsaved will go
away to eternal punishment, separated from God forever.
(Acts 1:11, 12, I Thess. 4:16,17, Hebrews 9:28, Revelation
20:4-6, Matt. 25:31-46, Rev. 20:4-6, 11-15)
The Church
We believe in the universal Body of Christ, that is, we believe
that all whom are regenerated are baptized into the Body of
Christ, the Church. We believe Jesus Christ is the head and
authority of the church.
(Rom. 12:3-8, I Cor. 12:8-10, Eph. 1:22-23, 4-11, Col. 1:18)
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by faith in the work that Jesus
did on the cross. We believe that all who turn to Him in true
faith and repent from their sins will be saved. We believe
that all good works are a manifestation of salvation and not
a means to salvation.
(Eph. 2:10)
Missions
We believe in the responsibility of every believer to “go
and make disciples of all nations…”
(Matt. 28:18-20)
